Stephen Fry: The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive (2007)

Stephen Fry explores the world of bipolar disorder - a mental illness that affected up to four million people in the UK at the time. What triggers it and why does it take, on average, a staggering nine years to diagnose? Motivated by his own diagnosis - which came 11 years previously, after a suicide attempt - Stephen sets out to uncover more about a greatly misunderstood condition which drives those who have it from extreme highs to crippling and often suicidal lows. Interviewees include Robbie Williams, Carrie Fisher, Tony Slattery & Rick Stein.
